Hamworthy has won its second order this year to supply a Multi Stage Flash (MSF) evaporation plant to a steel band galvanising plant in China. This is the eighth evaporator of the same type that Hamworthy has produced for steelworks in Europe and China.

The two-stage MSF evaporator uses exhaust heat released from the electro-chemical galvanising process. It produces 14 t/h distillate from a zinc-sulphate galvanising solution.
“Hamworthy has seen a significant increase in the number of enquiries from China this year as the country continues to invest in production facilities, and we believe this shows another benchmark for our growth in the Chinese market,” Mr. Attermeyer said. “The treatment of water is a key issue in China and we are convinced that our MSF technology is superior to any other evaporation process.”
To provide more efficiency and customer service in China, early last year Hamworthy opened an office in Guangzhou, a further expansion of its existing sales and service offices in Shanghai and Dalian. This added strength in the Far East allows Hamworthy to provide better support to their customers and to be more responsive and better informed.
“As business in China continues to grow, Hamworthy has developed products that focus on new markets such as land-based, which can maximise our exposure and subsequent business potential” Mr. Attermeyer said. “It is anticipated that this market will show a strong demand and Hamworthy has responded by providing innovative and reliable technological solutions to meet our customers’ needs.”
